The Middle Atlantic PGA is excited to announce that we are now accepting your Legacy Walk brick requests. To learn more about how your purchase will benefit the junior golfers in our area and to purchase your very own personalize legacy brick, click here!
The first of many commemorative bricks were delivered to the Section office on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 and installed a few days later. See image to the right of the installed bricks.
Second Photo: Bricks are laid out on the Legacy Walk prior to installation.
The MAPGA Legacy Walk contains laser-engraved, personalized bricks that were sold as a very special, yet limited, commemorative opportunity benefiting the MAPGA Scholarship Foundation.
Each brick is engraved using state-of-the-art laser technology which melts the clay forming a permanent engraving that will be a lasting part of the Legacy Walk.
The MAPGA Scholarship Foundation, an IRS 501(c)(3) organization, was formed in 2000 to provide financial assistance to qualified candidates based on desire or need to further their study and participation in college and/or the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGM) program.
There are currently three funds in the MAPGA Scholarship Foundation: the AHEAD MAPGA-APA Apprentice Scholarship fund created to encourage initiative and high achievement of PGA apprentices in the PGA PGM program; the Bill Deck-Fred Funk MAPGA Family Scholarship fund created to assist children and grandchildren of MAPGA members in attending college; and the Tony Marlowe Junior Scholarship fund created to provide scholarships to MAPGA junior golfers, based on academic performance, extracurricular activities, and on-course etiquette, toward college expenses.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact Kelly Curtis at the Middle Atlantic Section office at (540) 720-7420 ext. 101.
