How can your facility become an MAPGA Partner?

Have your facility contact Stephanie Jennings (x116) at the Section office at (540) 720-7420 or fill out the Partners Program form by clicking here.

What is the Middle Atlantic PGA Partners Program?

The Middle Atlantic PGA Partners Program was created to give our friends in golf the opportunity to enhance MAPGA Educational Programs, Junior Golf Activities, Public Awareness and Community Relations initiatives.  The MAPGA has many activities, events and operational requirements that need financial support.  Funds received from the Partners Program will greatly help in this regard.  Annual membership in the Partners Program is $150.  Please see the information below to view the benefits your facililty receives for being a MAPGA Partner.

What do Partner Clubs receive?

  • All Partners will be listed in a dedicated area of the MAPGA website.  Your Club Champions will be listed here as well and you have the option of providing your facility logo which can be hyperlinked to your Club website.
  • All Partners will be listed in the Middle Atlantic PGA Annual  (during years in which it is printed -- every five years beginning with the 2015 edition).
  • An email advertisement to be included in the Tournament Weekly or News & Notes emails to the MAPGA community
  • Facebook/Twitter posts of your club champions (optional)
  • Partner Clubs will be invited to participate in the Partners Club Championship at the end of the season.  This is a newly created Pro-Am event which will allow the Partner Club professional to compete with his/her Club Champions.  We anticipate this event kicking off in 2012.
  • Partner Clubs will have exclusive access to survey results on facility fees.

Hosting an Official Tournament

As a member of the Partner Club you have the opportunity to host a one-day Official Tournament* for an additional fee of $100 which covers sanction fees for the first day of the event, option to list event on MAPGA.com, and option to post tournament information and results electronically on MAPGA.com.  The fee for any additional day(s) and/or event(s) in the same year is only $150 per day and/or event.  A variety of tournament services are also available from the Section and are listed on the Tournament Request Form.

*An official tournament
is any event held within the geographic boundaries of the Middle Atlantic PGA during the official tournament season in which ten or more MAPGA members and/or apprentices: are required to pay an entry fee to participate and/or; compete for a professional purse and/or; compete for any portion of a team purse and/or; receive an appearance fee for participating in the event. Exception: A “pick-up game,” defined as 16 or fewer MAPGA Professionals (members and/or apprentices) in good standing (no participating amateurs or non-PGA professionals) playing for entry fees only will not be considered an official tournament. They shall not solicit nor play for added money. Membership classification is not a determining factor in the total number of participants. All facilities hosting an official tournament must employ a PGA member or PGA apprentice. An official tournament is subject to any tournament fees as listed in Article III, Section 1 of the Tournament Regulations.

Email Advertisement Included in Fee
2012 Partners have the opportunity to include an email advertisement to the MAPGA community. For those hosting Official Tournaments, your e-mail will consist of your event being promoted in two Tournament Weekly emails in the weeks leading up to your tournament.  For Partners not hosting tournaments, you will be able to provide a brief advertisement for happenings at your facility to be included, in two News & Notes emails sent weekly.

More Web Presence
In a dedicated area of the MAPGA website your facility and club champion information will be listed.  If your club logo is provided we will also hyperlink this to your facility’s web page.

Access to Information
All Partner clubs will be surveyed to gain information about facility fees (golf cars, range, etc.). This information will only be available to other Partner clubs.

Partners Club Championship Tournament Invitation
Partner clubs will have the opportunity to compete in a new MAPGA event: the Partners Club Championship. This will be a Pro-Am event where the club's PGA Professional would team up with one of his/her club champions.

Savings Example
Let’s assume you joined the Partners Program in 2010 at a fee of $200 and you hosted a Pro-Member for $350 for a total of $550. If you do this same program today, your total costs will only be $250 ($150 to join Partners Program plus the discounted $100 fee to host your Pro-Member). You can see how the savings will grow if you host more than one event!

Additional questions on the Partners Program may be directed to MAPGA Director of Communications Stephanie Jennings, PGA at 540-720-7420 x116 or sjennings@pgahq.com.
