The MAPGA Two-Day Junior Series are two tournaments geared to the competitive junior golfer. These tournaments are for juniors ages 21 and under with a 14.9 handicap index or lower. Below are more details about the events and frequently asked questions (please remember this is general information for all tournaments):
Eligibility:
Boys and Girls ages 10-21 as of the start of each tournament. Must have a 14.9 handicap index or lower at the registration opening date (See dates in “schedule” section below.) Every player must have a USGA handicap index. Players must reside in or be a member of a club within the boundaries of the Middle Atlantic Section PGA (MD, VA, DC and small portions of WV and PA).
Format:
Thirty-six (36) holes of stroke play. Players will play eighteen (18) holes per day.
Field Size:
78 players per tournament. First come-first served basis.
Cost:
$140 per tournament. This includes two rounds of golf, range balls, lunch each day, and prizes.
Age Divisions:
Boys 19-21 division, Boys 16 – 18 division, Boys 15 and under, Girls 19-21 division, Girls 18 and under division.
(There must be at least five players in each division)
Approximate yardages for each division:
Boys 19-21 division – 7000 yards or higher
Boys 16-18 division – 6500 to 6900 yards
Boys 15 and under division – 6000 to 6400 yards
Girls 19-21 division – 5800 to 6200 yards
Girls 18 and under division – 5400 to 5800 yards
Caddies:
Will be permitted but MUST be 18 years or younger to caddy.
